A contempative a cappella setting of the Yizkor text:
"...Lord, what is man that You care for him, a mortal
that You notice him?
Man is like a fleeting breath, his days like a passing shadow.
In the morning he flourishes and grows;
in the evening he withers and dries up...."
This setting was composed during Cantor Finkelstein's tenure
at Beth Tzedec Congregation in Toronto, Canada.
It was written to be sung a cappella, since instruments
were not used during services.
The piano accompaniment was added at a later date.
